I floated out of a very uneasy dream…

I wake out of a very uneasy sleep to the voice of Kelly softly calling me. “Mum! Mum!” he whispers urgently.

I open my eyes. Kelly is nowhere to be seen. The wind is raging, the rain is viciously pounding against the house. The house quivers uncontrollably in alarm. Trancelike, I float out of my warm bed and slowly drift down the stairs. All the doors to the outside world lay shattered. The windows are flung wide open. The rain floods every room. The house seems to shriek and holler in outrage! I think that the house has been burglarized. I continue to travel from room to room in this strange manner. Except for the flooding, all remains the same. Everything is untouched.

Suddenly the rain ceases its fury and the wind is still. All is quiet. I continue drifting from room to room following Kelly’s voice softly calling me. “Mum! Mum! Mum!”

This time when I open my eyes and rise from my bed, the sky is tinged in a red glow. The world is still and silent. It is getting ready to awaken. In spite of it all, I still hear Kelly’s voice calling me. It is too early to call him.

Slowly I trudge down the stairs. I enter the kitchen and draw the curtains apart. All is well with the world outside. I pray all is well with you, my precious son…
