It was a Friday morning, late in October, in Tehran. Fridays brought rest in Moslem countries, akin to a Sabbath. The house was still, with classical music playing softly as Papa engrossed himself in a crossword puzzle. Stella, dressed in a cherished pink and white angora top, remembered the sense of peacefulness in the cozy warmth of the room.

Her father, with a pencil stuck behind his ear, suddenly suggested a walk, sparking excitement in Stella. As they strolled through the cool autumn breeze, the falling leaves and scent of burning leaves evoked a sense of seasonal change and wonder. Stella reflects on how swiftly time has passed, from a young girl wearing her first watch to the elderly woman she is now, embracing the notion of change and the passage of life.
