We have this beautiful road that takes us out of the highway on our way home. I used to tell all the children in my life that we are going through the magical road. The branches overhead seem to hold hands above us. The leaves change colors with each season.

In winter, the snow covers the bare branches as if to warm them. It is a road of breathless beauty. Forty years have passed since I first discovered that road. All those children who are in their advanced adulthood still call it their magical road.
